Well I have to say that I am definitely married to the best man ever, Glenn or OG as many of you know him as. He planned a little one nite get-away for just the two of us to Biloxi...not San Diego(my favorite city) but still fun nonetheless. We started out as always at this little stand right off of I-12 that sells boiled peanuts. This is one of out little rituals and we LOVE BOILED PEANUTS!!!! That's for you Candace and all of the sushi girls.(inside joke).
We then continued on to the coast killing time until we could check in. I was so surprised at how much everything still looks much the same as we had all seen on the news after "Katrina." Houses , souvenir stands, gas stations and just leveled buildings still in complete devastation. As we drove around, I couldn't help but feel guilty for having moved on in my mind from Katrina, when there are still so many displaced people who are probably still in alot of pain. It is now almost 2 years since this destruction took place, yet there are so many who have lost hope. I began to pray for the people that once inhabited these places that God would begin to show them the vision that he has for their lives even though it may be difficult for them to imagine.
Then I began to think about all the displaced children in Uganda and how Katrina was just the beginning of learning what the term"displaced" truly means. For those of you who don't know, there's a big campaign going on to raise awareness of what is taking place in Uganda with the children, called "Displace Me." Little small children are becoming child warriors, although not by
choice. These kids leave there home at night and go sleep in the city to avoid being taken in as a soldier. CHECK out invisible children for videos and pictures, etc. It's so alarming to see how they are living.

So on April 28, all over the country people are coming together to spend a night out on sleeping bags with only a cardboard box for shelter. Wow what a way to truly experience and feel what they feel. Pastor Johnny Green just spoke this week at Refuge how we have to take our world go to them. Several will be heading down to Tulane to spend the night as these young kids are doing each night What a way to not only talk about their world but to actually live it too!!!!
So now this is really cool...THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 27th at the Annex, we will be showoing the invisilbe children movie. And listen it's for all, even if you can't go down to New Orleans Sat nite, you can still come watch the moviel... God may won't to rattle you up any way!!!!!
