Divine Appointment

I had a really cool thing happen in Vegas that I haven't had the time to post about yet. I just love how God places us right were he wants us to carry his plans and purposes.

I was down at the pool, while everyone else had already gone up to the room. The temperature was 108...I was parched to say the least. The best way to stay cool was to stay in the pool. I was sitting next to this older lady and she and I got to talking about Julia living with us, her family, my family. The next thing you know, she mentioned a Christian radio station where she was from. Ahhh when she mentioned that, many doors opened for more discussion about church, God and everything in between.

As I talked to her, I felt so sorry for her because she said her husband gambles the whole week while she shops, reads and swims. I just thought, what a way to spend your family vacation. But anyway, she then said that she had been saved for many years but her husband was not. I could here the frustration in her voice and the more she talked, I could tell it was an ongoing issue for her. She said that she feels bad because maybe she says too much to him, whether suttle hints or straight forward comments.

I then went on to share with her something that had happened when Glenn and I first got saved. I told her how I was saved before Glenn and that he continued to have drinks after work for a good while after I was saved. I told her how I was always letting off sly comments and this really became a problem. Then one nite God spoke to me and said " Just quit preaching and start praying." I also had someone tell me that if I quit letting Glenn hear my voice, he would soon hear God's voice. And wow what great advice. Glenn is a different man today and I'm thankful for these divine appointments that changed our life.

As Mrs Grace was sitting in the pool, I could tell she was taking in all I had just shared with her. And as I proceeded to get out of the pool and be on my way back to the room, she called me back to her and said, " I do believe that I was suppose to meet you here today."

I thought how awesome it is that God's plans every destination...He is our heavenly GPS!!!

Usually I have some witty comment to add, but for now all I can say is "Amen"

That's awesome! I think that's all I can say, 'cause God is sooo awesome! We need to have a long conversation on the bus to camp! :]
